THEprogress which is being made in Britain in the construction of multi-wheeled trailers for the transport of heavy loads is apparently being closely watched on the Continent. We are able to reproduce on this page an illustration of an eight-wheeled trailer, to carry a load of :141 tons, which has recently been constructed by E. Paquette et Cie, of Dagnolet
(Seine), France, to the order of the Paris house of Razel Freres.
The eight wheels are pivotally mounted in pairs in such a way that, despite road inequalities, the ,.loading platform, which measures 11 ft. 6 ins. by 9 ft. 10 ins., is kept on an even keel
C26 Beyond stating that the four front wheels are mounted in a special manner, the maker has not sent any information as to how the vehicle ig steered. It is mentioned, however, that the platformis suspended on eight springs, that the' loading height is 1 ft. 7 ins., and that the weight of the trailer is 10 tons.
