Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Colin Sowman Foden is to fit each major recyclable component of its trucks with security dots and plans an upgrade on the 3000 Series next year.

From 1 January engines, gearboxes and axles fitted by Foden will carry an Alpha Dotsecurity system—micro dots which carry the chassis number of the original truck to which it was fitted. The dots, which were developed by Alpha Scientific of St Albans, Betts (CM Ii17 May), resist oil, grease and vibration and enable police to trace recovered driveline components.

Foden says the dots act as a deterrent to thieves and operators could benefit from reduced insurance premiums. By December 1996 the Association of British Insurers will introduce a truck security rating system which will also be reflected in premiums.

The company plans to "upgrade" the 3000 Series which will get a preview at TipCon next year. Foden says the changes will follow those on the new 4000 Series including four-point cab suspension, a new dash and steering wheel, improved heating and ventilation, and better cab steps. From the beginning of February, Alan Mayne will take over as managing director of Paccar UK, Foden's parent company. lie has been with Paccar for eight years.

I I Foden has received an order for 57 vehicles from Fyffes. The order is for a mixture of 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series tractive units and rigids.
