SIX TRAILERS containing alcohol have been stolen from Wincanton in a raid that saw a security guard attacked.

At approximately lam on Sunday 3 August, six Wincanton trailer units full of alcohol were stolen from the group's depot in Corby, Northants.

Northamptonshire Police think at least eight people were involved in the robbery The guard was assaulted in the staff toilets by two men who tied him up and gagged him.

Wearing dark clothes, including black ski masks and gloves, the offenders had northern accents and may have been from Liverpool. Five trailers had blue curtains and one had green, however none had company markings.

It is believed that four of the tractor units the offenders took with them were white, and the remaining two were a dark colour.

Wincanton confirms the guard has been released from hospital and is recovering.
