Many Customs entries, the company states, are received at Tilbury with no indication of identity numbers of the vehicle/container/flat on which the goods have been imported and, furthermore, in most instances, the entries do not show whether they relate to the whole of the load or only part of it.
Lack of this information is bound to delay examinations and clearances, and shippers and hauliers are asked to ensure that Customs papers include these details.
