OPERATION INDICATE, the West Midlands police truck crime unit, has launched an instant messaging system called PROMPTEXT which enables haulage contacts on a secure web-based message system to receive crime updates,either by to a mobile phone, or by voice message to a landline.
The message is directed to a nominated phone number at each contact point so the information can be passed on.
PROMPTEXT now covers five Midlands police forces: West Midlands, West Mercia, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and the Central Motorway Police Group.
