Particulars of the C.M.U.A. Scheme for Fourth Annual London Parade.

Entries close on the 7th May.

We have pleasure in giving publicity to the conditions for entry in the meet and parade, of commercial-motor vehicles and tractors, which is about to be organized by the Commercial Motor Users' Association. This annual function has become increasingly popular, each year, since 1907, when the Association first revived a plan for which Sir John I. Thornycroft was originally responsible. Suggestions are invited with regard to the best manner in which " group " awards may be given, and that section of the programme will occupy the attention of a special sub-committee of the Association at an early date. It is not improbable that a challenge cup may be offered, to be held annually by the owner who sends the most-representative set of six machines, and we anticipate, if that course be adopted, that there will be healthy competition for the honour of holding it each year.

The Official Notice.

The Executive Committee of the Association has made arrangements for the holding of another Meet and Parade of Vans, Wagons and Tractors, in London. towards the end of May, with the object of encouraging drivers of such vehicles, by means of money prizes and other awards. to take a personal interest in the driving and condition of their vehicles, and to devote to their work all possible care and skill.

The number of vehicles and tractors taking part in the Parade has increased on each occasion, and the Committee hopes that at least one hundred vehicles and tractors will assemble for the final adjudication at this Parade. Drivers of all kinds of steam and petrol-driven commercial motor vehicles (e.g., wagons. lorries, vans, tractors, etc.) are eligible to enter and to compete for the prizes that are being offered by the Association. The drivers will be examined as to their knowledge and experience of their machines, and their knowledge of driving and traffic regulations, on one evening during May, and the Parade in London to enable the Judges to make the final awards will be held on Saturday afternoon, 21st May, 1910, at 3 p.m.
