The sleeves — called Superthane — are available for webbings up to 300mm wide and 10,000kg capacity. They are claimed to prevent damage to the webbing from sharp corners or rough surfaces on any type of heavy load and to stop bruising and abrasion to the load that might occur due to vibration between webbing and load at points of contact.
