• A fair weekly wage For agency drivers is 2263 a week, and nearly a quarter of them are dissatisfied with their pay, according to research by People Direct Recruitment Services,
A survey of agency drivers revealed that flexibility and variety are the main reasons commercial drivers choose agency work.
Jobs coming up at shortnotice, irregular work and pay levels are among their main complaints.
When asked to suggest a fair rate of pay, agency drivers came up with an average hourly rate of £5.45 for day and 26.96 for night shifts, with a weekly pay packet of £263.
