DROBLEMS involved in the distribu tion of raw materials and finished goods will be discussed at a one-day conference on transport management being organized by the British Institute of Management in collaboration with the Institute of Transport. It will be held in the recital room of the -Royal Festival Hall, -London, on -May 19.
• The speakers include Mr. J. A. McMullen, transport officer . of I.C.L. Ltd., who will speak on " Econotnics of fleet provision," and Mr. L. A. Carey, of Reckitt and Colman Holdings, Ltd., who will discuss Freight rates."
Mr. Ei. R. W. Watkins, head -of the• operational research _group of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd., will, discuss discuss " Some analytical methods applied to transport -problems." Mr. et. D. Wilson, managing director of a firm of consultants, and Mr. J. E. Fleming, supervising consultant. will suggest " Some steps towards better use of transport."
