• The UK's largest vocation& training centre specifically designed for the logistics industry is set to open in May.

A partnership between six further education colleges and the Transport and General Workers Union, the venture is also supported by major employers and key government agencies, including the North West Development Agency and the region's Learning and Skills Council.

Known as the Logistics College North West (LCNW), it will consist of six dedicated departments within as many separate north-west colleges. It aims to create opportunities for new entrants to the sector and those returning to the workplace.
