Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A LIGHTWEIGHT batterypowered desk-top calculator, which offers both print and display facilities, is a new addition to the Casio range.

Designated the FR100, it has a capacity of ten digits. Decimal can be fully floating or fixed at zero, two, three or four places combined with cutoff or roundoff (5/4) approximation.

Add mode, with automatic pointing at two places is also available, and combines well with a keyboard offering 00, subtotal, grand total and item count keys.

Supplementary functions include percentage and four-key independent memory.

Printer unit likewise has ten digits capacity, plus symbols to represent functions activated, including percentage, 5/4 and memory operations. It will also print date or code reference numbers at the left-hand margin without affecting calculations in progress.

To conserve batteries, the print unit can be switched off. But even when operating in display-only mode, any figure appearing in the display can optionally be printed on paper.

For extended use an AC mains adaptor is available.

The calculator measures 185 215 x 50mm and weighs 650 grams. It costs £74 (plus VAT.) Casio Electronics Co Ltd. 28 Scrutton Street, London EC2A 4TY. Tel: 01-377 9087.
