A NEW DEPOT costing £500,000 is to be built to house Eastbourne's 62 municipal buses probably next year.
The council's highway committee has agreed to include the necessary finance in the 1976/77 transport policy programme and the new depot will be sited near the existing depot in Churchdale Road on the ground at present used for allotments.
At present, the bus undertaking is having to maintain 30ft vehicles on 27ft pits and buses are being parked in the servicing area.
