own and drive a vintage steam traction engine with a kerb-side weight of 14 tons. Can you tell me if when the heavy goods vehicle licence comes into effect. I will be able to drive this engine to rallies on my group 1 licence?
ASteam traction engines, except for those
which are agricultural tractors, are in driving licence Group 1 and your entitlement to drive such vehicles will not be affected by any proposed change in the law.
Steam driven vehicles are exempted from the proposed h.g.v. drivers' licence scheme.
