VETERAN SUFFOLK operator Neil Bomford has sold his container haulage firm Harwich Express Freight to focus on other areas such as property investment.

The business has been snapped up by Ipswich-based Synergie Worldwide Logistics duo Dan Ashford and Dale Coote along with accountant Mike Sharpe.

Bomford, who has spent 25 years in the industry, also runs Neil Bomford European Transport.

Andy I ligginson from Scrutton Bland Corporate Finance, which helped close the deal, says that Harwich Express has a izim annual turnover and made a small profit in the last financial year: "We began negotiating the deal six months ago and the company was purchased for a six-figure sum."
