Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Who's splitting hairs? CM's June 22 story on London Transport's leasing of Telstar House mentioned a figure of £500,000 year. Back came LT in a letter (CM last week stating that the true figure was "well below' that. Yet in the current issue of LT News, London Transport's staff publication, a from page story puts the price at "more tha £450,000".

Seems the LT's PROs have been busy too, denying splits between LT and the GLC I hear that similar letters to the one in C last week, denying a major row between th two bodies over the increased fares appli cation, have been sent to all the offendin London and national papers who ran suc stories — which were pretty common whe the fares bid was made known.
