Rollalong offers four different demounting methods — on chassis, hydraulic lift-off, gantry, fork-lift truck and hand-operated jacking legs. The electro-hydraulic lift-off equipment will lift up to 12 tons. Two crossbeams are supported each on two single acting rams which are designed to cope with out-ofbalance loads such as wind pressure for example. Total weight added to the chassis by the lifting equipment is 560Ib. Rollalong swop bodies look very much like containers and incorporate lifting attachments for use
with a Custom designed "four-poster" type of gantry. Four-point lifting using wire rope operated by means of one hydraulic ram ensures even lifting. The power is electrohydraulic using mains electricity. The gantry will lift up to 12 tons and can be moved manually lengthways or sideways as required. Bodies can be dropped or picked up from ground level. Swop bodies are available in a range. of sizes up to 33ft long x 8ft wide x 9ft high. Construction is aluminium panelling on a steel base frame with fin. softwood flooring.
