Arlington is well known for its lightweight van bodies — and its Body-Change demountable system benefits from being fully integrated with the bodywork. Boxvan and Luton van bodies are offered and special features such as rear dropwells can be offered on demountables just as on conventional bodies. Arlington also offers two demount systems mechanical and hydraulic — and two choices of underframe designs to cover all body types. The mechanical system bodies have the ad vantage that they can be carried on a platform truck or semi-trailer, The hydraulic system uses Smiths equipment which powers four chassis-mounted rams. This system has the advantage of being self-contained, clean and quick. In the event of a battery failure the electro-hydraulic system will work equally well from an external power supply.
