THE next president of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, to succeed Sir William Black in October, will be Mr. Roger Gresham Cooke, well known as a -road transport spokesman in the House of Commons. A past director of the S.M.M.T. and secretary of the B.R.F., Mr. Gresham Cooke is at present a director of Rootes, Ltd., and vicechairman of the Conservative Parliamentary Transport Committee.

The vice-president for 1962-61 will be Mr. E. B. Elsbury, deputy transport manager of North Thames Gas Board: he is now completing his third year as chairman of the I.R.T.E. council. Other appointments are: Mr. J. H. Vincent as advisory officer: Mr. A. Enticknap as treasurer, and Mr. G. Curtis as secretary.
