Swansea Considering Centralized Transport Scheme.

Swansea Parliamentary Committee has under review the whole of the public transport facilities of the town, and reports from officials on the matter are expected to be made shortly.

The committee, too, has under consideration a scheme for a big central garage and engineering depot for all the vehicles owned by the municipal . departments, and reports on the financial aspect are being prepared.

Big Bus Loss at Liverpool.

In the annual report of the general manager of Liverpool Corporation's tramways and bus department, an analysis is provided of the cost of working the municipal motorbuses during the 12 months ended March 31 last. The following are the details:— Expenses (total 18.32d. per busmile); traffic expenses, 6.35d.; repairs and maintenance, including tyres, 3.32d.; petrol, 2.88d.; general expenses, 1.31d.; interest and sinking funds, 4.46d. The bus-mile earnings were 12.29d. Thus there is a deficit of 6.03d. per bus-mile, resulting in a net loss of £74,887.
