Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

High comfort levels from recently re-worked Actros— International Truck of the Year 2004 — meets the arduous world of construction. Actros has always been aimed at the muckaway off-road sector and the latest Mercedes offering's no different. Typical chassis weight a shade under 10 tonnes means this is a vehicle aimed squarely at the oft-road niche.

Powered by Merc V6 engine the Actros isn't short on grunt and there's power aplenty in the line-up. Ratings range from 350hp to a top offering of 440hp. Merc's own transmissions are employed and the Actros eightwheeler relies on electronically controlled drum brakes on all axles to drag it to a halt. The hefty chassis and suspension set-up gives the Actros driverthe impression he could plough straight through mountains. A high mounted cab offers unrivalled view of the road and cab comfort is a definite plus point.

REASONS TO BUY

• Superb oft-road ability * Excellent cab comfort tor tipper work • Heavy weight • Expensive
