NATIONAL Westminster Bank subsidiary Lombard North Central is to go into the commercial vehicle leasing market this year with a new package deal.
The attack on the market will be made with a marketing operation under the name Trucklease, and Lombard has high hopes of capturing a large slice of the market with the plan.
Lombard sees the Trucklease business as a means of repeating the huge success that it has enjoyed with Wheelease, its leasing operation for the car market.
Now, with the help of a 12 month market research programme involving discussions with dealers and operators, Lombard has gone ahead to launch the new venture.
It is estimated that the business of lorry leasing in Britain alone is worth between El billion and £1.4 billion a year.
