Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

With regard to the reader (CM, November 11) he seems to take great pride in colliding with buses, irrelevant of fault.

As to dress, I myself have fairly long hair, but it is always clean and tidy. There are very few occasions when I don't have a tie on, and these are usually in the summer when it is cooler to drive with an open neck.

I am now driving coaches, which I am pleased to see your readers are not criticising.

I am amazed at the number of lorries that pass on motorways when I am doing 60-65 mph. I often wonder what speeds they are averaging, and what they would do if they had a blow-out.

Also there are numerous delivery vehicles that park haphazardly on the side of the road, leaving swinging doors to catch the side of another vehicle.

I feel that most problems on the road are caused by a minority, such as people leaving late for work, hurrying to get home, or those who dislike driving.

The following rhyme I picked up off a matchbox: "With a little bit of patience as behind the wheel you sit, you'll never lose a fender, a child you'll never hit." I think this sums up what is needed before you ever get behind a wheel, be it in a mini, bus or lorry.

I would like to hear other readers' views on my opinion that modern heavies are becoming too fast for the roads of this country.

I also think we should have a similar system to that in Europe of fines on the spot, which I think would cut down accidents.
