• Vauxhall has introduced a new entry-level model to its Midi van range. The Midi Merit costs £7,699 (ex-VAT) in petrol form and £8,549 (ex-VAT) for the diesel, undercutting the previous base Midi by £1,351 and £1,511 respectively.
Vauxhall claims an 869kg payload for the petrol model and 804kg for the diesel. The Merit is based on the SWB Midi: equipment includes the five-speed column-change gearbox, two passenger seats, cigar lighter, clock and tinted glass.
The new model is targeted at daily rental companies, fleet and municipal operators.
