Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE SUPPLY of Courage beers to restaurants, public houses and other outlets would be disrupted the event of a lorry ban in the Greater London area.

Company representatives told the inquiry that the primary distribution is a one-man operation, with own tonnages carried. These deliveries go to four depots, and from there are delivered to customers.

No 32.5-tonne-gross-vehicle weight lorries are used on the secondary distribution.

A night-time ban would make it hard for some depots to deliver to parts of England in one day, he said.

The panel has asked Courage to check some of its figures and send in another written submission with more details.
