11E proposed withdrawal by the Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd., of the Louth-Slcaford bus service, which has lost £1,500 in the past 11 months. was criticized at a meeting of East Kesteven Rural District Council last week. Cllr. G. C. Wright suggested that the operators were losing custom by not attempting to co-operate with private companies so that passengers could make connections.
Mr. A. P. Hazelton, clerk to the council, said a survey made by the Lincolnshire Road Car Co. showed that the Louth bus carried only one passenger in East Kesteven on Mondays. two on Fridays and one on Saturdays. On Wednesdays nobody used the serviceIts running cost was 23d. permile: the revenue Was Is. per mite.
