EN DOR SING earlier recommendations I—, by the general manager of the undertaking, consultants appointed to look into the organization of Bury Transport Department have recommended that the post of chief clerk be abolished, and that the position of traffic superintendent be merged with that of deputy general manager. The reorganization of the engineering section, with a reduction of foremen but an increase in chargehands, is also suggested, together with a cut in the clerical work at the depot.
Savings from these changes would amount to an estimated £3,405 a year, it is stated.
