Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Energy efficiency officials are offering hauliers a free video to help save on fuel costs. The techniques shown in the video, which is targeted at small and medium-sized operators, are said to cut fuel consumption by up to 15%.

Tim Warburtonjoint managing director of Huddersfield-based Dews Haulage, is one of the hauliers featured. He says a fuel management system provides him with a monthly break-down for each of the company's 20 trucks: 'We are at least 5% more fuel efficient than we were five years ago and we spend £250,000 a year on fuel."

Experts involved in making the video for the government's Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme (EEBPP) include John Boocock, group driver development manager for TDG. Volvo, MAN, the Road Haulage Association and the Road Haulage and Distribution Training Council also contributed.

• The video is available from the Environment and Energy Hotline on 0800 585794.
