Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THREE new semi-forward-control E.R.F. vehicles were put into operation by Wilsons Brewery, Ltd., Newton Heath. Manchester, this week, in time to cope with the Christmas traffic. The Jennings cab has a front panel of reinforced glass fibre, the remainder being of aluminium. The two-piece windscreen is curved. There is accommodation on a bench scat for two passengers, apart from the driver.

The new model is known as the 54(G)SF. and has a Gardner 5LW engine. The platform is of light alloy, with a loading length of 22 ft., and is 3 ft. 101 in. above the ground. The overall vehicle length is 29 ft. 8 in. and the width 7 ft. 8+ in. The wheelbase is 16 ft. 8 in„ and the turning circle is 65 ft. to the right and 58 ft. to the left.

NEW DAIMLER DEVELOPMENTS

SALES of Daimler buses have declined during the past 12 months, because of intensive competition from larger manufacturers. This will be reported by Mr. John Y. Sangster, chairman of the Birmingham Small Arms Co., Ltd., at the company's annual meeting on December 19.

He will point out, however, that substantial business has been obtained in the bus field, and that the company are soon to introduce technical developments which should strengthen their competitive power.

MORE SINGLE-DECKERS?

Fnew single-deck buses may be bought by Edinburgh Transport Committee to promote the operation of a major circular bus route in the city. Double-deckers could not be used because of two low bridges. At present the undertaking has 108 single-deckers, but many of them will soon have to be withdrawn because of age.

Double-deckers in use number 595 and the total fleet consists at present of 703 buses.
