SAFETY: Statistics on wheel loss

Wheel-loss stats The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions has published an analysis of surveys by the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Vehicle Inspectorate into the incidence of wheel-loss from commercial vehicles: • Over a three-month period, ACP° reported 92 cases of wheel-loss--35 of which led accidents. Four of these accidents caused injuries.

• Over a two-month period, the VI survey reported seven cases of wheel-loss.
