Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Ford will re-enter the one-tonne pickup market next May with the Ranger—a 4x2 and 4x4 pickup range which is the result of a collaboration with Mazda.

The launch (predicted in CM 5-11 March) will re-establish Ford in a market it last dominated with the P100. As well as having 4x2 and 4x4 drivelines (a first for Ford}, the Ranger will be available in double and single cab versions. It will be different from the North American pickup with the some name.

Ford expects the Ranger to expand the UK pickup market

from 7,500 to about 9,000 vehicles a year; it expects to take a 25% share of that market. Production will start next February in Thailand. 0 Ford will add a 115hp turbo-diesel to its Transit range next January. The Transit is due for replacement in 2000; the new engine will help stave off the threat of highpowered vans from the likes of MercedesBenz, VW, Renault and the Sevel group.
