David Kirle joins CCE from Davco Industrial Services as general manager while Eric Beard and Keith Simmons remain as production director and chairman respectively. Colin Norris and Nick Bird have left the company.

• TANKFREIGHT REGIONAL DIRECTORS Tankf-reight has established a haulage service board of directors under the stewardship of haulage service director James Maye.

To help improve liason between depots, head office and customers four new regional directors have been appointed for the North East (Denis Arnold), North West (Alan Clegg), South East (Leon Cogdale), and South West (Ed Facey). They will sit on the board with the existing Eastern, Scottish and Northern Ireland general managers, and with Mike Blackburn, director of Tankfreight's Texaco contract.

SALMON John Salmon has taken control of United Transport Buses' Zippy bus operations in Preston. He takes over from Malcolm Robson.

Salmon is a founder member of the UTB management team and was closely involved in establishing UTB's minibus operations in Manchester and Preston.

• LEYLAND BUS QUINN Owen Quinn has been appointed sales and marketing director of Leyland Bus. He joins the company from Rover Group where he was southern regional director.

Quinn will join Leyland Bus in September and will succeed David Quainton who will leave after completing a light rail vehicle project. • UNITED TRANSPORT SEDDON John Seddon has been appointed operations director of United Transport. He will have direct responsibility for the company's four regional centres as well as central operations and engineering functions, and will be located in the company's head office in Chepstow.

• GDL RICHARDSON GDL, specialist division of the NFC Distribution Group, has appointed Grahame Richardson as managing director. He moves from sister company SPD to manage the newly-formed GDL operation. He joined SPD in 1979 from the National Bus Company.

• FREIGHT LINES KEEN Mike Keen has been appointed general manager of the northern region for RDB Freight Lines.

He joins the company from Tom Granby (Sheffield) where he was depot manager.
