Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

approximately 7 lb less than 3 tons. Could I take an hgv test for a Class 3 four-wheeler in this lorry or are there any regulations to say the lorry must be over 3 tons unladen?

If there are any such regulations is there any way round them without having the lorry reclassified as over 3 tons unladen?

A You would not be able to take an hgv " driving test on a vehicle weighing less than 3 tons unladen because the regulations do not apply to that class of vehicle and an hgv driving licence is not needed in order to drive it, Of course, if you were to increase the unladen weight of your vehicle to qualify, this would involve you in paying more excise duty which you obviously don't want to do. There is no way around the regulations to suit your needs. The simple answer is: you can't have it both ways!
