THE GEORGE T. FRASER award, presented annually to the best paper from a student member of the Chartered Institute of Transport (Scottish Section), was won this year by William Couper.

Mr Couper, 28, a graduate from Edinburgh University, has been employed in the operations section of Lothian Region Transport Department for the past four years. The theme of his paper was Rural transport in Scotland.
