A TWO-DAY training course on handling hazardous loads for drivers and other operating staff employed in road haulage Is offered by ICI Mond Division at Winnington, Northwich. Since March, six courses a month have been run involving 12 trainees on each course. It is intended that this will continue throughout the rest of this year to be followed by a less intensive programme catering for replacement staff. priate for handling particular products, and emergency procedures. The courses have generally been taken up by employees of haulage contractors already carrying for ICI, but there is no reason Why others interested in the carriage of hazardous loads should not gain entry to these courses, CM was told this week.
The cost Is £30 a person end this may be recoverable through the Road Transport Industry Training Board levy/grant procedure.
