MR. A. FRASER, vice-chairman and managing director of Girling, Ltd., has flown to Canada and the United States to visit the Canadian National Exhibition at Toronto, where, Girling is exhibiting, and to meet American motor manufacturers and Girling service agents.
MR. E. S. H. EALES, A.C.A., A.M.INsT.T., has been appointed costs officer of the London Transport Executive and MR. W. P. LAVENDER. A.A.C.C.A., audit officer. Mr. Eales joined Nottingham Transport Department in 1933 and the L.T.E. in 1949. Mr. Lavender entered the traffic-audit office of the Metropolitan Railway Co. in 1922.

MR, E. I. Wittis, J.P., has been appointed a director of Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., in place of the late MR. A. E. CANNON.
M. W. N. CoLUNS, sales and service director of F. Perkins, Ltd., and MR. R. C. ALLEN, general sales manager, recently returned from Canada, where they attended the first exhibition of Perkins engines at the International Trade Fair, Toronto. During their visit they met Ma. C. D. Howe, Minister for Trade and Commerce, and many Government officials and business chiefs.
MR. A. 0. TOMMY, B.Com., has been appointed London agent of the North Central Wagon and Finance Co., Ltd., in succession to Ma. R. V. REES, who has become the company's Surrey agent. Mr. Tookey, who was overseas secretary and later deputy secretary of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders from 1933-46 and was until recently a director and general manager of the Austin Motor Export Corporation, Ltd., will also manage the affairs of North Central's subsidiary concern, the Consumer Credit Corporation, Ltd.
OBITUARY
WE regret to record the death of SIR VT WALROND SINCLAIR, Ma. F. FENN and MR. E. H. TOMLINSON,
Sir Walrond was president of British Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., and had been ill for some time. He was 72.
Mr. Fenn was one of the first executives to join I.T.D., Ltd., and was responsible .for producing the first Stacatruc fork-lift truck in 1946.
Mr. Tomlinson was the chairman and managing director of Mansfields, Ltd.
