Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By an award of the Industrial Disputes Tribunal, the wages of draughtsmen of 21 years of age and over, employed in the vehicle-building industry, have been increased by 12s. 6d. per week as from the first full pay period following January 9 this year. Proportionate increases have been awarded to tracers and juveniles.

The Tribunal says that any increase in wages, other than for individual merit, which have been granted at individual establishments on or since the date specified, will be merged in the increase provided by the new award, which is dated August 14.

The Association of Engineering and Shipbuilding Draughtsmen claimed an advance of 14s. per week for adult draughtsmen and of 10s. 6d. a week for tracers, with smaller increases for juniors. WEIGHT LIMIT EXCEEDED: £3 FINES

AKESWICK driver was fined £1 and his employer £2 by Cockermouth magistrates last week, because a coach weighing more than 3 tons unladen was driven along a section of road "ear C,ockermouth.

Cumberland County Council's authorization for raising the weight limit on this road is not yet operative, because it has not been confirmed by the Ministry of Transport. The local police superintendent explained to the court that the limit was to be raised to 3i tons. Some coach drivers were already taking its ratification for granted.

The employer, Lake Hotel Coaches, Ltd., Keswick, was also fined £5 because the unladen weight of the coach was not plainly marked.

AIR PASSENGERS TO PAY DASSENGERS travelling by all air

lines will, as from October 1, have to pay for their road transport in airline coaches between city terminals and airports.

This new arrangement will apply in Europe and America. The practice has been current in North America for many years and the International Air Transport Association has decided to secure uniformity in other countries.
