To meet demands from offices, factories, hospitals and educa

tional establishments Welconstruct has introduced a new range of mobile shelving which enables gangways to be eliminated and is claimed to provide a saving in floor space of 60 per cent compared with conventional static shelving. The shelving runs can be locked together in one block and this affords security as well as resistance to the spread of fire and penetration of dust, Mobile bases are designed to take Welconstruct's standard nut-and-bolt shelving, rolled front shelving or "150shelving, and they can also be designed to accommodate customers' existing shelving. Up to 2-21. tons can be moved by hand; glide action is provided by double-ballbearing-type wheels which are mounted on 2in. x lin. flat bright drawn steel track. For loads over 21 tons a mechanical drive-wheel device is fitted to alternate runs.

Welconstruct offers a technical advisory service on the supply of new equipment and the conversion of existing shelving installations. A track laying and erection service is aso available. Made by: Welconstruct Co Ltd Birmingham B13 OB.
