Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SWEDISH-MADE box spanner, which can be adjusted in a few seconds to suit any size of nut between 3. in. and in., is being distributed in this country by Pyman. Bell and Co., Ltd., 65 Quayside, Newcastle-on-Tyne, 1. The jaws are caused to open and close through a central member which tertninates at the handle-end in a knurled knob.

At the business end. the central member is formed with an inclined groove which mate ,s with an inclined projection on the adjustable jaw. Endwise movement of the central member causes the jaw to move in or out according to the direction in which the knurled knob is turned.

When the spanner is in use the adjusting means is not subjected to any strain imposed on the jaws. It is essentially, a precision-made tool and sells for £3 15s.

The tool can deal with worn nuts and will hold nuts firmly in the jaws, a distinct advantage in removal or replacement. It is 13 in. long and weighs 23 lb.
