THE CENTRE for Physical Distribution Management has announced the syllabus for its Distribution Studies diploma.

Six examinations have to be taken, including domestic and international transport, warehousing and material handling, financial planning, and management, and human resources.

The diploma can be studied on a specialist short course, evening classes or correspondence course basis, and can take up to two or three years.

In addition, the candidate must complete a thesis.

Examinations will be held annually at regional centres in the UK, the first exam starting in June 1984.

Sir Robert Lawrence, chairman of CPDM, said: "The introduction of this diploma is a milestone in the profession of physical distribution management."
