Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Hargrave International, the Spalding-based UK and TER reefer operator, aims to boost its turnover closer to 25 million and expand its fleet this year. It hopes to be among the first British operators to take advantage of liberalisation when it arrives in 1992.

Speaking at his company's 10th anniversary last week, managing director Graham Eames asserted that 1992 "holds no fears for us. We are prepared and able to meet and take advantage of any opportunity. We intend to lead in Europe through our service and quality of equipment as we do in the UK."

Eames says his firm will "play an active part, through Transfrigoroute, in leading British fridge hauliers into the open European market." Transfrigoroute's UK members are already operating to standards above most European hauliers, says Eames: "Our code of conduct is unique throughout Europe — indeed TUK is the only haulage trade association to have a code of conduct."

Last year, Hargrave International had a turnover of over £4 million and was "comfortably" in profit. The company will not reveal its profit figures, but Eames does say that HI has increased its profits and turnover every year since starting trading 10 years ago, and that this trend will continue during 1988.

HI has 50 trucks, 60 trailers and more than 800 customers.
