Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Section 69 inquiry into the Maintenance system and facilities used by Containerway and Roadferry Ltd of Ardrossan was adjourned in Glasgow this week by the Scottish LA, Mr A. 131 Birnie, to allow time for further inspections to be made by a vehicle examiner.

The LA was told by the company engineer, that four GV9s issued last November were the result of the c.hargehand in control of maintenance keeping adequate records while, in fact, no inspections or maintenance were being carried out. Assurances were given that the chargehand had left and efforts were being made to find a qualified replacement. The inquiry is to be resumed in two weeks' time.
