Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

6 Stanley Road, London, E4.

LAA NEAT, self-contained unit from Denmark is the }IPA (made by H, P. Anderson, of Copenhagen) Automatic No. 3101 which, depending on the size of the wheel and the degree of inaccuracy, will find and register faults in from 15 to 40 seconds. The wheel is then braked and the size and position of dynamic off-balance are read direct from a scale, no adjustments or measuring being required. All that the operator has to do is attach wheel weights to the rim. Once in action, the machine needs no further attendance, so while a wheel is being checked the waiting time can be utilized to prepare the next wheel for balancing.

The wheels are fastened to special steel

flanges, the dividing circles of which are numbered and the mounting holes painted in varying colours to reduce the risk of errors in mounting, A special cone-hub with fastening nut is supplied with the flanges. Tools are not required for attaching the flanges to the main shaft of the balancer. When the wheel has been mounted, the electric motor is switched on and maximum speed of rotation is obtained in 5 sec., and within 40 sec, the maximum dynamic off-balance is registered.

The self-contained unit, although modern in style, has been based on practical needs, so room has been provided to dispose of tools, weights and so forth on top of the cabinet, whilst inside there are partitions for flanges and a small shelf for storing accessories and tools. A tripod, to he used when

attaching the wheels to the flanges, and a complete set of magnetic weights for balancing the wheels statically are supplied as standard accessories. J., S. Webber Ltd. are sole concessionnaires.
