Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Dennison Trailers' aluminium aggregate tipper has a 7.3m body with air-operated tailgate, mounted over a sliding/ rolling bogie trailer, and to negotiate confined areas the trailer closes up by 46cm to 8.78m overall.

At 44 tonnes gross, this makes it more manoeuvrable than any eight-wheeled tipper, and with a declared tare weight of 6.54 tonnes, a sight more productive too.

Dennison's other finalist, a lOycl3 slope-framed tipper, had a body made from interlocking aluminium planks on a high-tensile

steel chassis. Built for Reid Transport, the 11rn trailer included an on-board weighing system, roll-overtop sheet, pneumatic tailgate locks and a self-tracking rear axle for better accessibility United Trailers' sliding bogie tipper was built to enable BEA Glendinning to carry road-laying materials to road repairers around Cornwall.

Its double-taper aluminium insulated body is mounted on a triaxled chassis that adjusts and locks in place when positioned against a paving machine.

The slider system is easy to grease and has roller support pads to make the body even more secure.

In Glendinning's experience, the retractable chassis is more manoeuvrable than a traditional 8x4 tipper and, at 6.86 tonnes, beats it on payload too.

United's other finalist, a wellbuilt aluminium monocoque tipper, is for carrying sugar beet, grain or other bulk materials.

On United's own 44-tonne rated steel chassis and with plastic wings, access ladder and catwalk, the 66yd3 bathtub-style body is of a fairly traditional U-shaped pattern that is 'built for the job'.
