Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Chief Agricultural Show of the Year, Held at Newport (Mon.),Produces for Inspection a Number of New and Interesting Transport, Agricultural and Municipal Machines.

TO-DAY (Tuesday) Viscount Tretlegar, C.B.E., .President of the Royal Agrierultural Society of England, opens the 86th Annual Show, the venue of which this year is Newport, Monmouthshire.

The site of the show ground is Tredegar Park, on the Cardiff road, a little over two miles from the town, but, as usual, adequate bus services will be maintained. The show yard is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily (but no admission is permitted after 7 p.m.) until Saturday, duly 9th, the price of admission being 10s. on the opening clay, 5s. on Wednesday, 35. on Thursday and Friday and 1s. on Saturday.

Official ear parks in charge of the Royal Automobile Club are close to the three entrances to the show yard, the parking charges being 10s. for a large coach, 5s. for a car and 2s. Od, for a sidecar combination, the vehicles being parked at the owners' risk. Tickets are obtainable on the spot. The fares from railway station to show yard by motor or horsed cab are:—For one or two persons 3s., and for each additional person Oil.; by coach or bus, fid. per person.

There is no doubt that the Show this year is of even greater interest than in former years, so far as the power-propelled exhibits are concerned.

• There is a larger number of petrol vehicles, including such modern types as rigid-frame six-wheelers and up-to-clate bases and coaches, whilst special endeavours have been made to cater for the particular requirements of the agricultural community, there being some most interesting examples of sheep and cattle wagons, horseboxes and general-purpose vehicles.

Amongst the steam exhibits there is a six-wheeled 12-tonner and a new tractor, whilst improvements have been incorporated in other makes.

Attention has also been given to the development of the Diesel engine. There are two or three British examples of this type (although they are not yet applicable to the ordinary vehicle) and• a German tractor with this class of power unit.

There would seem to be a renewed interest in the .agrimotor, as one or two types which have not been shown for some years have reappeared.

There are two makes of road tractor with which most of our readers are familiar, but to this number has ,now been added a French example of particularly interesting design and with special equipment which renders it equally effective for road or crosscountry use.

There is no doubt that the Royal Show is becoming something in the nature of a commercial-vehicle exhibition, for it has been realized that the opportunity for visiting it is taken by many thousands of people who would not think of making a special jOurney to London to inspect commercial vehicles at Olympia.
