Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FORD Transit short-wheelbase 12, 17 and 22cwt vans are now available optionally powered by the company's 2-litre V4 petrol engine producing 74.5 bhp net at 4,500 rpm and a net torque of 107 lb.ft. at 2,750 rpm.

Including heavier duty universal joints in the drive-line, 2-litre versions of the Transit• will cost £25 more than the models with the 1.7-litre unit, which has a net output of 63 bhp at 4,500 rpm in low-compression form and 68.5 bhp at this speed as a high-compression engine, the net torques of the units being respectively 84.5 lb.ft. at 2,750 rpm and 85.6 lb.ft. at 3,000 rpm.

The larger engine continues to be a standard fitting in the case of the 25/35cwt long-wheelbase Transits.

The 2-litre engine is said to improve acceleration times from 0-50 mph by 22/27 per cent with fully-laden 17cwt and 22cwt vans and to increase the top speed available by 10/12 per cent. The vehicles will climb a gradient of 1-in-311-in-4 with a full load.
