A WARNING that applicants must give their legal representatives time to prepare a case was given by the Scottish Licensing Authority last week, when a solicitor asked leave to withdraw an application because he had insufficient time to prepare his case. The solicitor, Mr. L. Falconer, asked permission to withdraw an application by Mr. I. Maxwell, of Kilmore, for an A licence for one vehicle to carry general goods in Scotland. Although the application had been lodged in October, 1953, the first Mr. Falconer had heard of the inquiry was the same morning.
