A TWO-WEEK English folk dance and song show in 12 theatres in the south of England is to be sponsored next April by National Express. With sponsorship reaching epidemic proportions, the company does not really need to justify its action, but nevertheless explains its altruism by pointing out that coaching is just as much a part of our national heritage as dance and music.
The show, "which will bring to life 400 years of English folk culture," is to be called The Everlasting Circle. Those who have noticed that circles do tend to go on interminably will recognise this as an astute title.
