Keywords : Parking, Crayford

A BIRMINGHAM haulier, Evan John Jones, of Crayford Road, Kingstanding, was called before the West Midland deputy LA, Mr J. Shuffiebotham, last week, following a report that his base or operating centre was unsuitable.

Mr Jones, who holds an 0 licence for two vehicles, had applied for variation to add a further vehicle, but a report from a vehicle examiner said that the operating centre was a semi-detached dwelling house and unsuitable. Mr Jones told the deputy LA that in view of the criticism of his arrangements he proposed to withdraw his application for an additional vehicle and agreement had been reached with a local petrol station for the parking of the existing vehicles.

After pointing out the undesirability of parking or maintaining commercial vehicles in the street or in a residential area, -the deputy LA said that in the circumstances no further action would be necessary.
