Galley has been appointed first chairman of London Country Bus Services Ltd., the company in which the Country (green) buses and Green Line coaches, at present operated by the London Transport Board, will be vested on January 1 1970, Mr. Gailey is chief executive of the National Bus Company.
Brian. Hayward, 32, has been appointed general operations manager of the transport and distribution division of Miles Druce and Co. Ltd. The division includes two companies—A. Packham and Co. Ltd. of Highbury, London. with depots at Southampton. Bristol and Cullompton (near Exeter), and H. B. Everton Roadways Ltd.. with a depot at Droitwich. Mr. Hayward was previously group transport manager of British Domestic Appliances. Peterborough.
D. N. Flower, manager of Thomas Bros. Wort Talbot) Ltd.. and Neath Cardiff Luxury Coaches Ltd., has been appointed traffic manager of the Aldershot and District Traction Co. Ltd., with effect from January 1, 1970.
P. G. Dewhurst, assistant engineer with Hants and Dorset and Wilts and Dorset. has been appointed assistant engineer of Ribble Motor Services Ltd. with effect from January 1 1970 L. V. Deal has been appointed service manager, mileage contracts, for the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd., he has been assistant to the service manager for five years. J. W. Wilkins, technical assistant to the chief engineer of the North Western Road Car Co. Ltd., has been appointed area engineer. Tredegar, with Red and White Services Ltd.
Allen Sheppard. who joined Rootes from Ford in 1968. is to head Bodies' new export supply and parts division being formed to co-ordinate Rootes Motors exports programme.
John E. Rhame has been elected to the board of directors of Vauxhall Motors with effect from November 19, 1969. Mr. Rhame was an assistant comptroller of General Motors Corporation before joining Vauxhall in October as assistant to the managing director.
Frederick J. Bowring, managing director of E. J. Baker and Co. (Dorking) Ltd.. has been appointed a director of the parent company, Dorada Holdings Ltd., the motor distribution and engineering group. T, E. V. Stephenson has been appointed Alcon Industries' group sales manager; D.F. Dartnell, project development manager; B. B. Flavin, marketing services manager: J. Ferriday, automotive industry sales manager and R. L Cooper. container, rail and caravan industries sales manager. G. E. Powell will be responsible for projects and development in the uses of aluminium for road transport, containers and caravan industries.
Horst Weissenfeld has been appointed a director of Seddon-Deutz Ltd. following the resignation of Dr. H. G. Emmendorfer who has joined the board of a German container manufacturer, Mr. Weissenfeld, who is export director of Magirus Deutz in Germany (Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AG). worked with F. Tinsdale, general manager of SeddonDeutz, in setting up the new company in Manchester in 1967.

Ron Brown has been appointed works manager of Slaven Transport Products Ltd. Mr. Brown has been involved in design and production of fifth-wheel couplers and other components since he joined York Technical Services in 1961.
C. V. "Kim" Ford has taken up new responsibilities with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders as educational affairs secretary. He was formerly public affairs secretary. John Weinthal has become Press and public relations manager of the Society.
