• 1-1-A N order from Costa Rica for 60 oil engines as conversion units in trucks of various makes has been received by Leyland Motors, Ltd. The order calls for 20 0.350 and 40 0.375 units, and gearboxes will be exported with the engines. Instead of the normal 24-volt electrical equipment, 12-volt items will be fitted.
Four Albion Aberdonian underfioor-eitgined bus chassis are to be supplied to United Bus Service, Ltd., Mauritius. The company already have four Aberdonians and four Leyland Tiger Cubs, all of them with 47-seat bodies built locally. Fuel consumption for the Tiger Cub models is stated to he between II and 12 m.p.g., with better figures from the lighter Aberdonians.
